Roland Christ is a master winemaker, expertly crafting classic wines of exceptional quality.

His daughter Dominique, educated in the wine industry, brings a wealth of knowledge to their wine production. The vineyard may not be the largest or most modern, but it is small and charming. The family upholds traditional methods, ensuring each bottle is crafted with love.

This time, we are excited to savor their 2009 Riesling Auslese!

Color
The wine makes a delightful first impression, evoking childhood memories of a soda called Citronvand (Lemonwater), with its nearly identical hue.

The Nose
It’s delightful—soft, rich, yet refreshingly vibrant.

A standout aroma is reminiscent of a candy called foam banana; if you’re unfamiliar, imagine the fusion of sweet banana and dark chocolate.

The wine maintains its freshness, thanks to supporting aromas like green apples, lemon, preserved apricot, preserved peaches, honeydew melon, and a smoky hint of coal.

The Palette
While the wine is sweet, it’s not something you’d indulge in multiple bottles of; however, one glass is truly delightful!

The texture is rich and oily, with a long finish, yet the acidity prevents it from becoming too heavy.

Despite being from 2009, the wine retains a youthful feel, likely attributed to its high acidity.

The aromas present notes of banana, overripe lemon, green apples, preserved fruits, honey, and a subtle ashy undertone.
