📍Viertel Restaurant & Weinstube
🌍Stuttgart, Germany
★★★★★☆ – 92/100
Viertel Restaurant & Weinstube is a charming eatery and wine bar located just a 20-minute walk from Grand Station in Stuttgart. During our week-long stay in Stuttgart, we stumbled upon this hidden gem, tucked away from the city’s hustle and bustle. This cozy spot feels like a family-run establishment, with the wife gracefully managing the front and the husband working culinary wonders in the kitchen.
The menu features classic German dishes, offering an array of local specialties alongside a touch of Italian cuisine. It strikes a balance between variety and focus, ensuring top-notch quality. We sampled a range of dishes, from Schnitzel to Pizza, and everything was cooked to near perfection.
The wine selection showcases primarily German wines from the surrounding region, but if you’re in the mood for something different, Italian and Spanish wines are also available.
We of curse choose a wine from the area, a spätburgunder (pinot noir) created by Alde Gott. The wine was good, a lot of the notes were in the sweet end of the spectrum with notes of candy but still a nice and creamy texture.
Viertel is indeed worth a visit, it’s not a Michelin experience, but you are guaranteed food made with love, and with a crazy price point, 70 euro for 2 incl. wine, beer and food!
