Viertel Restaurant & Weinstube, is a Lille Restaurant og wine bar, places 20 minutes away (on foot) from the Grand Station in Stuttgart.
We had stayed 7 days in Stuttgart, when we coincidentally saw Viertel. This little hidden gem, is placed away from the worst of noise coming out of the fairly big city Stuttgart!
This does seem like a family owned restaurant with service out the front from the wife, and the husband doing his magic in the back.
The menu is very classic German, you can get a lot of local specialities, but also a bit from the italian cuisine. The menu was versatile but still narrow, which made sure that the quality was great!
We tried everything from Schnitzel to Pizza, everything was cooked close enough to perfection.
The wine menu primarily consisted of German wine from the nearby area, if the Germans isnisntt tempting you also have the possibility to order italien or spanish wines.
We of curse choose a wine from the area, a spätburgunder (pinot noir) created by Alde Gott. The wine was good, a lot of the notes were in the sweet end of the spectrum with notes of candy but still a nice and creamy texture.
Viertel is indeed worth a visit, it’s not a Michelin experience, but you are guaranteed food made with love, and with a crazy price point, 70 euro for 2 incl. wine, beer and food!
